Calligraphy Greenway

Located in Taichung’s West District, this street blends nature, art, fashion, and cuisine amidst lush greenery. Spanning 3.6 km from the National Museum of Natural Science to the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, its fluid layout fosters diverse styles and unique alley cultures on Calligraphy Greenway.

National Museum of Natural Science

The National Museum of Natural Science, Taiwan’s first science museum, is located at the northern end of Calligraphy Greenway, offering rich collections and hands-on activities in six main sections. It is also a place filled with hands-on exhibits that will delight children and adults of all ages.

National Museum of Fine Arts

A museum in West District, Taichung, Taiwan. NTMoFA was established in 1988 and is the first and the only national-grade fine arts museum in Taiwan. The major collections are works by Taiwanese artists, covering modern and contemporary Taiwanese arts. The museum covers 102,000 square meters, including the Public Outdoor Sculpture Park, making it one of the largest museums in Asia.

National Taichung Theater

The Taichung Opera House, designed by Toyo Ito, stands out in Taichung’s Xitun District, Taiwan, spanning 57,685 sqm. It features innovative architecture without beams or columns, and includes theaters, dining spaces, and a rooftop garden.

Feng Chia Night Market

Feng Chia Night Market, located near Feng Chia University in Taichung, is known for its diverse offerings, extended hours, and popularity among young adults. It’s one of Taiwan’s largest night markets, honored as Taiwan’s Most Beautiful Night Market in 2010.

Gaomei Wetland

Located on Taiwan’s west coast in QingShui District, Taichung City, the Gaomei Wetlands are an ecological preservation area. They form a coastal wetland at the Dajia River estuary, shaped by freshwater and tidal changes. Once a seaside resort, sediment from the Dajia River transformed it into today’s landscape of sandbars and tidal flats.

Lecheng Temple

A temple located in East District, Taichung City, Taiwan. Mazu is the main deity worshipped in the temple, and the sea goddess is known as the “Hanxi Mazu” after the nearby Han River.

Dajia Zhenlan Palace

Also known as the Zhenlan or Mazu Temple, is a temple dedicated to the Chinese Goddess Mazu, the Goddess of Sea and Patron Deity of fishermen, sailors and any occupations related to sea/ocean. The temple is located in the Dajia District of Taichung, Taiwan. It is known for being the start of the Dajia Mazu Pilgrimage, an annual celebration of the sea goddess.

Taichung Park

An urban park in the North District of Taichung City, was established during the Japanese colonial period and stands as the city’s oldest park, spanning approximately 32,889 square meters. The Hu Xin Pavilion in the middle of the lake within the park serves as a significant symbol of Taichung City. Since its establishment, the park has continuously incorporated or erected historical-themed memorials, transforming it into a showcase space representing Taichung’s history.

Dakeng Scenic Area

Dakeng also boasts a variety of mountain biking and hiking trails. These trails are managed by the Taichung City Government. A total of 10 hiking trails exists. Each trail varies in difficulty in ascent and descent; with trails 6-10 being flatter and more suitable for beginners while trails 1-5 are more vertical and pose more of a challenge.
